1. Confession of sin brings forgiveness, relief and great joy from the Lord. (1-2 )

2. Non-non-confession of sin brings chastening from the Lord. (3-5)

3. Don’t wait too long to confess your sin

Biblical principles concerning confession and non-confession of sin

1. Because forgiveness of sin brings spiritual depression and oppressive guilt, it is foolish to refuse to acknowledge sin.

2. Because forgiveness of sin brings joyful bliss with God and relief from guilty pain, it is wise to confess sin in a timely manner and not conceal it.
